Phil Helt
Hello, my name is Phil Helt, and I am a Junior Communication Studies and History Major from Gladstone, Missouri. I serve as the News Director for GAC TV News. This is my third year with the program, and I have loved every second of it! In addition to GAC TV, I am also involved with the Gustavus Adolphus College Forensics Team, Big Partner/ Little Partner, Student Senate, Communication Studies Board, Relay for Life, Media Board and Crossroads Program. Plus, I am involved in Boy Scouts and for the past five summers I have been a member of the permanent camp staff at the Camp Lone Star on the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation. In my free time (if I have any) I love to camp, watch movies, read a good book, play volleyball and, of course, call home. Best Wishes Y’all!
Jaimie Farel
Hi there! My name is Jaimie Farel and I am a senior Communication Studies major from Apple Valley, Minnesota. I am one of GAC TV’s co-anchors and also serve as the story coordinator. This is my second year of involvement with the program and I am loving every minute of it. Not only is GAC TV a great way to learn hands on about broadcast media and connect with the Gustavus community, it is a prime example of what we as students are capable of. It was built from the ground up by students, and now GAC TV is celebrating its 5th year going strong! I am also involved with Gustie Greeters, the Gustavus Wind Orchestra and Saxophone Quartet.
Sierra Krebsbach
Hi, my name is Sierra Krebsbach and I am a senior Communication Studies major from North Oaks, MN. I am currently the Executive Producer and Sports Reporter for GAC TV. This is my third year with GAC TV and it has been an absolutely wonderful experience. Working with GAC TV has allowed me to gain hands on experience in the field of broadcast journalism while getting the opportunity to interact with different people and organizations on campus. This past summer I was the newsroom intern for KSTP Channel Five in the Twin Cities and loved the experience. It was exciting to work in a real newsroom and shadow reporters out in the field. Broadcast journalism is an exciting and challenging field! I encourage anyone interested to join GAC TV…writing, editing, and putting together a news story is a useful skill to have regardless of what career you want to pursue in your future. Outside of GAC TV, I am on the womens varsity tennis team, the treasurer of the Communication Studies board, and a member of SAVE an organization on campus that promotes healthy decision making among athletes.
Kristin Kunz
Hi I am Kristin Kunz. This is my second year with GAC TV and I am very excited to be part of this organization. I cannot wait to collaborate with the new and existing members of GAC TV again. GAC TV is a great way to share ideas with people on campus. I will be in my junior year at Gustavus as an economics major. I also play trumpet in music ensembles at Gustavus. I volunteered with Study Buddies during the school year and Southern Minnesota Legal Services during the summer.
Mary Cooley
My name is Mary Cooley and I’m a sophomore hoping to get an individualized distributive major approved sometime this year… If not, I’ll continue to be a Political Science and English double-major. This year is my second year with GAC TV and for some reason they’re trusting me to take care of their office and all of their equipment! I hang out in the GAC TV office most days during chapel time if you need to check out a camera or just say hi. I am also heading up our Dancing with the Profs effort this year. Besides GAC TV, I also belong to the Crossroads Program, am co-president of Amnesty International, and will be joining the Firethorne staff for the first time this year.
Kevin Seitz
Hey, my name is Kevin Seitz, and I am a Senior Comp Sci major. This is going to be my second full year at GAC TV serving as the webmaster, but I am also very excited to start working on the tech and editing aspects as well! I’m also really looking forward to working with everyone on GAC TV this year — we have a lot of very dedicated people who have great aspirations for this organization. In addition to working with GAC TV, I spend a good amount of time working for Media Services and taking part in Student Senate as the Technology Director; I happen to work on the websites for them as well!
