1. What is the Gustavus Gaming Society?
The Gustavus Gaming Society, GGS, is a student run organization which was founded in November of 1993 by Lars Ericson to serve the gaming needs of Gustavus Adolphus College. The GGS is a college-recognized organization that provides a network for students interested in gaming related hobbies. These hobbies include, but are not limited to, Role-Playing Games, Wargames, Boardgames, and Computer Games. The GGS is a place for students to hook up with other gamers and discuss their favorite gaming interests.
2. What kind of activites/events does the GGS run?
The Gustavus Gaming Society maintains many regular activites and sponsors several gaming related events every year. One of the actively maintained activities for GGS members are Role-Playing Games. There are many RPGs that meet on a weekly or semi-weekly basis to play in specific campaigns. These campaigns provide an opportunity for members to participate in a a RPG without the hassle of finding other players. For more information on current RPG campaigns, contact the President (see below). Aside from RPG campaigns, the GGS often holds tournaments in strategy and war games such as Warhammer 40K or BattleTech. There are also movie nights set up allowing GGS members to partake of their favorite cinematic experiences. Many of these even ts are planned at the quarterly meetings or are discussed on the GGS newsgroup: gac.student.ggs. Information on these events is made available to members as they are developed.
3. How can I join?
This is the easy part. Anyone is allowed (and encouraged) to join the Gustavus Gaming Society. There are no dues and no membership restrictions. All one needs is an interest in or a curiosity about gaming.
